News | Saudi Arabia will only accept IEC62368-1: 2018 report from July 2021

The Saudi Standards Authority (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, SASO) is expected to increase the scope of the latest IECEE certification from July 1, 2021. The products on the control list and similar products need to apply for SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate (SIRC certificate for short).

6. Electronic games and accessories

Products that have been on the control list before

1. Household electric water pump

2. Mobile phone

3. Mobile phone battery

4. Power bank

5. Notebook computers, tablet computers

6. Smart watches and smart straps

7. TV and monitor

8. Wireless earphones or earphones for mobile phones only

9. Mobile phone and laptop charger (wired, wireless and car)

10. Household dishwashers

11. Lighting products (all lamps and control devices)

12. Photovoltaic products (photovoltaic panels and batteries, inverters and charging regulators, DC cables)

The Saudi regulations emphasize that suppliers are required to obtain IECEE national recognition certificates for these products, which are aimed at controlling the market for high-risk electrical products and protecting them from inferior or counterfeit equipment. And to ensure the application of Saudi specifications to protect consumers and the market from imported products that do not meet the standard specifications, and verify the safety of products, reduce accidents that may cause these products, and facilitate the entry of goods through customs ports without repeated Check and test.
